For the past year, I was presenting my debut album Aberrance live in many cities across the Middle-East, Europe, Africa, and the States. This weekend, I'll be performing for the first time (finally) in France! And I must say I'm very excited; Thus this post:)
The concert, part of a month-long multidisciplinary program - Beirut Ya Beirut - which includes art installations, discussions, movies and music, will take place in a beautiful museum located next to the old city harbor of Marseille (Vieux Port).
Along with jazz/oud artist Rabih Abou Khalil, I'll be closing the Beirut Ya Beirut program on Saturday June 18 at 7PM, accompanied by fellow friends and amazing artists Ahmad Elkhateeb, Carl Ferneine, and Delaney Stockli.
Ahmad Elkhateeb is the latest addition to the Gurumiran lineup, adding his signature fusion of beats using Tabla, Req, and other toys.
Carl Ferneine has been my partner in crime for Aberrance since its birth, producing and performing the electronics in addition to backing me up on voices.
Delaney Stockli is one of the most talented musicians and violinists I ever worked with. I first met Delaney in 2015 when we performed together in bars and clubs round Manhattan and Brooklyn in NYC. After almost a year, Delaney will be able to join me for the MuCEM concert and then accompany me to Beirut where we'll be performing June 21st on the Beirut Jam Session stage (Saifi Village) as part of Fete de la Musique.
Pass by if you're around. It'll be fun under the sun.
